Juan

Scottish artist Juan Diaz was born in Glasgow circa 1977. He was adopted at the age of five and spent his childhood creating animated films and photographing his friends dressed as Hollywood stars.

Juan's styles of work include painting, photography and urban street art. He has a growing fan base in the UK and Europe and also in the celebrity world.

Juan models for the renowned French artists, Pierre et Gilles and has recently worked in film with performer Joey Arias and director Manfred Thierry Mugler for the upcoming stage show Z-Chromosome.

“What would you consider as your great influences?

Music is my first great influence. I first met Grace Jones in Glasgow via her son Paulo who saw some of my paintings online and so I was bowled over when I got an invite to them. I always loved Grace's music and her collaborations with her former husband, French artist Jean-Paul Goude, for photos and video-clips commercials. To know that she has my work on her walls at home is a huge honour.
